how it works
Alpha 180 is a lifestyle support program for college student in sobriety. Though we are not part of the Greek system we function as a sober fraternity, incorporating brotherhood & sisterhood, community outreach, and fellowship through a common call to purpose. We are situated in the heart of the West Campus student housing district – walking distance from the University of Texas and Austin Community College.

WHO IS AN ALPHA 180 STUDENT?
Alpha 180 students have made a deeply personal decision to return to college because they want it. Alpha 180 students are not perfect, but follow guidelines and make suggestions. They are clinically stable, fully detoxed, and have a minimum of 90 days sobriety so they can commit to Alpha 180 for a minimum of one semester.
For new or returning students in need of transitional support, Alpha 180 will offer an Intensive Outpatient Program which meets three days a week for three hours each day. Students will meet individually with their case manager to develop a specific educational plan with a timeline and steps to achieve their goals. All Alpha 180 residents will attend 12-step meetings, work with a sponsor, and participate in service work. Prior to taking on a full college course load, some students may work part-time in the Austin community. We will offer regular organized activities such as hiking, camping, mountain biking, rock climbing, and more.
